Esthetics

By

When I started esthetician school, I found myself struggling once again with the structured class schedule. The adjustment was even tougher when classes transitioned to a virtual format. I didn’t quite fit in with my peers, but I stayed focused, knowing that the skills I was learning would be valuable down the line. I approached each lesson with the mindset that, even if the environment didn’t feel like a perfect fit, the expertise I was gaining would be essential for my future. I naturally began planning my future business as I progressed through beauty school. Despite not fully resonating with the structured environment, I saw the value in the skills I was gaining and began envisioning how I could turn them into a business of my own. This mindset helped me stay motivated and focused on the bigger picture, knowing that these new abilities would be the foundation for my next venture.

I graduated from home in 2021, due to virtual learning. Soon after I joined a local salon in my area, where I had the opportunity to work alongside people I’d known and cherished since childhood. This environment was extremely beneficial to me when transitioning into my career allowing me to feel grounded and supported in an environment that felt like home.

As my career advanced, I began branching out and exploring new environments, which helped me discover different demographics and emerging trends in the area. This deeper understanding allowed me to tailor my services to meet the needs of diverse clients, expanding my reach and boosting my revenue. By staying in tune with what clients wanted and adapting my approach, I was able to grow my business and create a more personalized, profitable experience for those I served.

After four fulfilling years in the beauty industry, I can look back on a journey that taught me valuable lessons in customer relations, revenue generation, and efficient administrative management. Working closely with clients taught me the importance of building genuine connections, understanding their needs, and consistently delivering a high-quality experience. By adapting to client feedback and keeping up with local trends, I was able to successfully grow my business and deepen my expertise in marketing and customer loyalty.

Beyond direct client interactions, I honed my administrative skills by managing bookings, tracking inventory, and streamlining operations. Each part of my role contributed to a well-rounded understanding of what it takes to run a business successfully. These years in the beauty industry gave me both the skills and the confidence to take on future ventures.
